A Review of the World Poker Tour Poker Chip Set

Are you someone that likes something a little extra and unique with your poker playing experience? One of the most common ways playing poker slips into the realm of "dull" is when the chips are decidedly less than exciting. Some may say that the type of chips you use when playing should not be a factor in the quality of the game.

However, it is commonly proven that a decent and original chip set can really make a game come alive. This is why the World Poker Tour Poker Chip Set is so worth looking into. This is a poker chip set that decidedly stands out from the crowd thanks to the unique look that it embodies. Are looks important to poker play? Well, there is a psychological factor at work as quality chips can make a game a lot more exciting. And, without a doubt, no chip set embodies quality more than the World Poker Tour Poker Set.

The World Poker Tour Poker Set is comprised of clay filled chips which adds to their durability. These are not the low quality plastic chips many are familiar with. These are high grade clay chips that will certainly last a long time no matter how often they are used. Hopefully, when they are used they will used in conjunction with winning hands!

The detail on the chips in the World Poker Tour Poker Set also greatly adds to the ability to set these chips completely apart from their competitors. When you look at the chips found in this particular set, you are most definitely looking at a poker chip set that greatly sets itself apart from the competitors in the field.

The design associated with these particular chips is quite original. That means when you look at the chips you are staring at a memorable design that those crafting it put a significant amount of time and effort into.

Probably the most notable design component of the World Poker Tour Poker Set is the impression of the logo on the chip itself. Yes, the World Poker Tour (WPT) is one of the most famous gaming events in the world and the presence of its logo on the chips adds to their authenticity and appeal.

When you see the logo on the chips, there is a certain psychological benefit to their presence that cannot be overlooked. Mainly, the chips will deliver the look and feel of a professional event. Such a benefit should never be overstated because it can contribute greatly to the actual enjoyment of using the chips in a friendly game.

The final analysis here is that the World Poker Tour Chip Set remains one of the most visually impressive poker chip sets ever devised. Those looking to own a thoroughly memorable set are advised to consider purchasing this one.

Poker Tournament Strategy: This Is What You Need

Walking around the Casino at night you try to find the game that is most appealing to you. A poker tournament is is going on in the back. You stay and watch and wonder why you cannot do that. Well, you can. There are poker tournament strategies out there.

Temptation is the lure of poker, and gambling in general. Playing poker seriously in a tournament is different then a late night bet. If you are impulsive with your money, which is common, it can sink your ship. When you rush bets early in the tournament the risk of being one of the first will run sky high. If you lose most of your money early on for a few hands you thought you had, its going to be hard to come back. I am under no circumstance telling you to fold if you have four aces, king high. I am advising to pace your bets and the way you play. You will stay in the game longer, thus increasing the chance to win.

Poker is a one against all game. It's sad, but true that you will not win every hand. Lucky for you, that is not the point of the game. The goal is to be around when the last hand is dealt.

Live poker play is no waltz in the park. You have to consider the other players involved. When you get a awesome hand, emotion cannot be shown. The other players look for this. As you should. Any subtle movement of any player can give you a clue to what there hand could be. The live tournaments is not all about reading the cards. It is also about reading the opposing players.

Live tournaments could be a big step for some new to the game. Online tournaments can be a nice stepping stone. All the same elements of poker exist online. But you are in the comfort of your own home, and not playing in front of the opposing players. Even though you have the option to play other live players.

Online poker is legal in the United States. It's legal in most other countries as well. Recently, the American government is making online poker, and gambling harder and harder. Though it is still legal, it seems that the government is taking slow steps to stop it. Although, this is happening, many oppose the actions.

How Razz Poker is Different from Other Poker Games

The game of poker is played on a large scale in the casinos and betting houses all over the world. There are many forms of this game which are played in the casinos. Some of the famous ones are 7 card stud, Omaha, Texas Hold'em etc. Apart from these there are certain forms of these games which are comparatively not that well known and are rather unknown to most of the poker enthusiasts. One of them is the Razz Poker. Razz poker is not very common in the casinos; however, it is gaining a lot of popularity in the online poker arena.

The game of Razz poker has a lot of similarity to the seven card stud game except for some small differences. So if you are familiar with the rules of 7 card stud, then it would be easier for you to learn the game of razz. For starting a hand I Razz, each and every player has to put the ante inside the pot after which the cards are dealt. The dealing of the cards happens exactly the same way like in seven cards stud game. So, if you are not familiar with the way the cards are dealt, you can learn either of the two games. There are few points in which the game of razz can be differentiated from the other poker games-

# In the game of Razz poker, the come in bet is made by the player who has the maximum valued up card on the 3rd street. # After 3rd street, the minimum valued hand will get the first chance to act and if two players have the same valued card then the player who is closest to the dealer on the left side will play first. # Similar to the 7 card stud when you are playing the limit Razz games, the low betting amount will be used on the 3rd and the 4th street and after that you can use the high amounts for the rest of the betting rounds. # If a player has a pair in the up cards, the dealer is the one who always announces the hit.

Apart from these small differences, the main point of difference is in the objective of this game. The aim is to have the lowest possible 5 card hand and is the main point of distinction between Razz poker and other games of poker.

Learn Casino Craps: Fundamental Premise of the Game

As a gambler, have ever considered playing craps but were too terrified to even try? After all, craps is difficult and math-intensive, right? Wrong! It's so easy even that insurance-company caveman can do it. Let's take a look at the game's fundamental premise.

The game starts with the first dice roll, which is called the "come-out roll." After the come-out roll, the game continues until a "decision" is made based on the results of subsequent rolls. The possible decisions are: 1) The game immediately ends with the come-out roll if a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 appears (this is called a "natural"); or 2) If the shooter establishes a point on the come-out roll, the game ends when the shooter rolls the point number again before rolling a 7 (this is called "making the point"); or 3) If the shooter establishes a point on the come-out roll, the game ends when the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the point number (this is called a "7-out"). Each possible decision has different consequences depending on how the player bets.

A "point" is established when the shooter rolls any one of six point numbers on the come-out roll. The point numbers are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. Notice that all the possible two-dice combinations are covered by the natural numbers (2, 3, 7, 11, 12) and the point numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10). Therefore, the come-out roll must produce either a natural number or a point number.

Remember, if the come-out roll is 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12, then the game ends immediately. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 shows on the come-out roll, then a point is established and the game continues until the shooter rolls either the point number again or a 7. Once a point is established, the only relevant numbers for that game are the point number and 7, in terms of a decision to end the game. All other numbers are irrelevant for that game. For example, suppose the shooter rolls a 9 on the come-out roll (i.e., the shooter establishes 9 as the point). For that game, the shooter can roll as many times as it takes to show another 9 or a 7. The shooter can roll for hours and the game will not end until the point number or a 7 shows.

If the shooter rolls a natural on the come-out roll (which ends the game immediately), then that same shooter keeps the dice and continues rolling the next game. If the shooter establishes a point on the come-out and if she then rolls the point again before a 7 (which ends the game), she keeps the dice and continues rolling the next game. If the shooter establishes a point on the come-out and if he then rolls a 7 before the point number (which ends the game), the shooter does not get to continue rolling the next game. Instead, the "stickman" passes the dice to the next player on the left. The next player is not obligated to roll the dice. If a player doesn't want to shoot, he simply tells the stickman, "I don't want to shoot." The next player in line to the left who wants to roll then picks up the dice and a new game starts with a new come-out roll.

See how easy that is? Piece of cake. However, it does get a bit more complicated when making bets because you need to know how the result of each roll affects your bets. But that's not too difficult either. It's like learning to count to 5. Not only do you need to know the numbers, you also need to know the order of the numbers (i.e., 2 comes after 1, 3 comes after 2, and 4 comes after 5). It's a bit challenging at first, but once you know it, you don't even think about it. The same is true for all the various craps bets and their odds. Once you know them, you don't think about them. So, don't fear the game and don't fear the math. It's easy. Just like learning to count to 5 required a little bit of effort, a bit of effort is all it takes to learn the various craps bets and their odds. See you at the tables!

A Review of the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Chip Set

Upon looking at the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Set, you will quickly come to the rather correct assumption that not all poker chips sets are alike. Some of these sets are rather dull and bland in appearance, while other sets can truly capture the imagination by presenting a set that is not like any other on the market. Such is the case with the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Set as it remains one of the most novel and unique poker chip sets on the market.

Yes, there are many chip sets that make the same claim. Some of them truly do aspire to greatness thanks to the expert work that is employed in their design. Then, there are those chip sets that really do stand head and shoulders above all the other chip sets available on the market. Such is the case with the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Set. As soon as you take one glance at this poker ship set, you will realize the manufacturers and the designers most definitely went out of their way to deliver a set that exceeds any and all expectations one would have when it comes to designing a brilliant set.

What makes this series so unique and special? There are many components that allow it to rise above the mediocrity of other chips sold on retail store shelves. In particular, a patented surfacing process is used to allow the chips to embody a unique feel that is reminiscent of some of the most popular clay surfaces. This alone allows the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Chip Set to stand head apart from the crowd of plastic imitators that do not deliver the best or most memorable chips. And when you purchase a chip set you do want a memorable one, correct?

These have also been designed so that they appear similar to the type of chips that are available in casinos. These are not the lightweight plastic style chips that can be purchased from any source. The 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Chip Set is far beyond what most retailers present on their store shelves.

Does this mean that the Nexgen set comes with a high price tag? Actually, these poker sets are reasonably priced and they are certainly not out of the budget range of the average person. Those looking for a quality set will be pleased with the results when they purchase this particular set.

The bottom line here is that the 100 Nexgen Retail Poker Chip Set is one of the better poker chips collections on the market. The production quality is high and the price is right. You really could not ask for anything more.

7 Poker Tells and How To Spot and Exploit Them

Any good poker player will tell you that playing strategy only will not allow you to win in the long run. There is the strategy side to poker and then there is the psychology side to it. Being able to read opponents at the table and trick them into calling you when you have a strong hand or realize when you're in a good position to call them. What makes this possible? Being able to pick up on tells that every player has. Even the best players, if you played long enough with them, you could pick up on some type of tell. But it's being able to do this quickly and without giving yourself away that separates the sharks from the fish.

I've come up with 7 common poker tells and how to look for them. Bear in mind that these tells may be involuntary by a player or they may be deliberate in an effort to fool you. A combination of betting patterns, hands won, and associated tells will help you form a better picture of the strength of an opponent's hand.

1. Their hand is shaking - Many people believe that if they spot someone's hand shaking during a wager, then they are nervous because they know they're bluffing and are worried they'll get called on it. More often than not, however, the opposite is true. The player is so anxious due to the strong hand that they're holding that they're trying to act calm and hide it. The hand they're holding may be unbeatable and they're just so ready to draw people into the pot that they give it away with their body language. Generally if someone has been cool and calm and then you notice that their hand is shaking somewhat, it might be best not to call them unless you have a very strong hand.
2. They keep fidgeting - Fidgeting/jittering/drumming of the fingers are all things to look for. But, more importantly, is to look for the continuation of them at the right moment. Let me explain. Suppose a player is drumming his fingers on the table, and then bets out. Then he goes back to sitting there drumming his fingers. Take notice of the next person to start and reach toward their chips to call his/her bet (or if it's you who is calling).
Does the finger drumming continue unfazed or does it stop? Often if you notice someone doing this, it's advantageous to sort of slowly reach for your chips to make the call while noticing their reaction. If they stop fidgeting or finger drumming, then that very well could be an involuntary reaction to not wanting you to make the call. If they seem completely unfazed and continue right on, then they may actually have a hand worth folding against.
3. Acting sad or shrugging - These are more obvious tells for a player who has a strong hand. In their mind, they think by acting this way that they'll convince you that they don't have too strong of a hand. When in fact this type of behavior is usually a dead giveaway that they want you to think that and call them and they, in fact, have a very strong hand. Sometimes you'll run into a very smart player who will constantly mix this up on you and then it becomes a useless tell because it could mean either a weak or strong hand.
4. The way they breathe (or change their breathing) - This is another rather unconscious tell that players will exhibit. Often if someone has a strong hand, their breathing may become a little quicker or more exaggerated. If they are bluffing, they may try to control it or even hold it, for fear that any behavior they exhibit will give away that they're bluffing.
5. They look away - I've found that more often than not, if a player has bet and then isn't looking at you or appears disinterested in your call...then they are likely trying to deceive you into calling a strong hand. It's the old "dum-da dum-da dummmmm...let's just see what he'll do...i'm not looking or pressuring him or anything...dum-da dum-da dummm". Don't call this bet unless you're holding something strong or you may be looking at a raise from them.
6. How they react when they look at their cards - When players first get their hole cards, try to catch their reaction. Often a player with weaker hole cards will look at them longer as if to appear interested in getting into the hand with what he's holding. If they glance at them and quickly put them down (and possibly look away), then they were probably dealt something strong and have nothing to think about when it comes to entering the hand.
7. Putting extra emphasis on their bettion motion - This is a difficult tell to pick up on, but one that can be valuable. Watch the placement of chips in a bet by a player. Did they do anything different when releasing the chips? Have they just been placing them squarely on the table up until this bet and they sort of splashed them out this time? Extra emphasis can, contrary to what you might think, indicate that they are unsure about their bet and want to try & seem overly confident. If their chip placement motion is exaggerated...then it could be a good idea to call or even raise.

Tutorial: How to Sign Up at an online Poker Room

Tutorial: How to Sign Up at an online Poker Room This article is about learning how to sign up an account at a poker site online and ensuring you are eligible for the promotional sign-up bonus.
Select a poker site that has the best offers and game selection to fit your needs. Once you are happy with your choice, you will need to download the software and set up an account. This process is short and easy. You will be to play in no time.

In general the process is complete in four quick steps: 1) Download and install the poker client software 2) Create an account 3) Enter the bonus code 4) Make a deposit

1) Download and Install the Poker Software

You can download the software directly through the poker site's main page or through an affiliate link. Look for a large graphic or button that says Download. This graphic is often flashing or made very easy to see.

Follow the on screen instructions to download the full software. The steps will lead you to download an ".exe" file which means it is an extension file.

Most computers will warn you about proceeding forward from this point. This is a standard warning and should not be cause for concern as all major poker sites offer safe downloads which will not infect your computer with any viruses.

Many sites now offer Flash versions of their software in case you do not wish to download any software. Playing the Flash version allows you to play straight through your internet browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer etc.). The disadvantage of playing this way is that the quality is lower and some graphics and functionality are limited.

2) Create Your Account

After downloading and installation is complete, the next step is to set up your account on the account page. You will need to create a username (or handle) and a password as well as the required personal information they require from each user. The information you must provide will include name, age, address, phone number and registered email address.

All private information you provide other than your username will be held confidentially by the site. On some sites they will openly list your country or city that you are from.

3) Enter the Bonus Code

In order to receive a sign-up bonus, it is imperative that you have the sign-up bonus code ready before you create your account.

You will be prompted to enter a bonus code during the sign up process. Each site does this differently. As long as you have the correct code and enter it into the proper field you will be eligible for the advertised bonus.

It is best not to rush through the sign up process because you do not want to miss this important step. Some sites request the bonus code earlier/later than others.

If you are signing up through an affiliate site, this code will tag you to the affiliate site you entered through. In general, an affiliate site will offer you entry into freerolls simply for signing up through one of it's links.

On rare occasions the site will not even request a bonus code; it is sufficient to simply use a link from the affiliate site offering the bonus. Be sure to note this before you start the process.

4) Make a Deposit

The final step is to put money into your account.

A few sites offer minimum deposits of $5 or $10 but most sites have a minimum deposit of $20-$50. Poker sites will offer an assortment of deposit methods that you can choose from. This is very important since not everyone has access to the same sorts of deposit method. Be sure to note this before you choose a poker site to play at.

Almost all sites will allow direct deposit though credit cards like Visa or Mastercard. Another commonly used method they accept is through a third party "eWallet" or money-transfer company. Examples include: Paypal, Western Union, click2Pa, ukash,myCitadel, EcoCard, Neteller, Clickandbuy,ePassporte, UseMyBank and Paysafe. These services will cost a small fee.

There are other more traditional methods that some sites allow such as wire transfer, bank transfer, personal check or bank draft. Each method can be researched online so it is advised to look into what best suits your needs and capabilities. As well, each site has customer support representatives who are able to assist you or handle any questions or concerns you may have.

Basic Texas Hold 'em Strategy

If you are looking to get started playing Texas Hold 'em, there are a few basic strategies you need to bear in mind when deciding your approach. As Texas Hold 'em is different than standard poker, adjusting your strategy accordingly is key to your success and in ensuring that you can remain profitable at the table.
The most important Texas Hold 'em strategy that you can employ is to ensure that you never forget to only play the hands that you want to play, which will put you in the best position you want to be in. Texas Hold 'em involves a lot of folding of the initial two cards that are dealt out to players, simply due to the fact that most times, players have the luxury of not needing to play in all hands and thus trying to remain in a game they know will not work in their favor. Do not forget this, as a lot of people have a bad habit of remaining in play in Texas Hold 'em and staying in too many hands they should otherwise fold.

As a general guideline in deciding whether to play or to fold, consider the hand value. Most people typically only remain in the game if the two cards that they are dealt are 10 or higher or have some sort of other attribute to them (such as being a pair, suited or sequential to possibly form a straight later.) If you're starting a round and don't have these cards in your hand, consider simply folding in order to get yourself out of the hand and protect your funds. Nothing is wrong with folding a few hands and waiting for the right one to come along, as your patience can end up paying off substantially in the long run.

This is particularly important in Texas Hold 'em, as the two cards dealt at the beginning are the only cards that set you apart from the other players. All other players at the table use the five cards that are eventually dealt into the middle of the table as a communal hand. Therefore, if any good cards show up, they can just as easily benefit other players as they can you. Selecting a strong starting hand is the key to making sure that you can give yourself the edge over the others.

Deciding when to get out and cut your losses is also an important strategy to develop for yourself, in order to protect your funds for later use. All too often, players tend to stay in once they reach a certain point and feel they must remain in, as they have already invested some money in a hand. This can be bad, as it could just as likely work against you as for you. In fact, more often than not, it DOES work against you. If you play through to the flop, or the first three cards to be dealt onto the table, and you still do not have a strong hand, consider simply cutting your losses now in getting out while you've spent just a little money.

Statistically speaking, the flop will give you approximately 71% of your overall hand for the entire game. If at this point you do not have a strong hand and do not feel comfortable with bluffing to try and take the pot from the rest of the players get out and cut your losses now, before it's too late. Even accepting the loss of a little bit of money at this point in the game is acceptable, if it can protect your chip stack for later and allow you to land a winning hand later on.

Among the above Texas Hold 'em strategies, you should definitely educate yourself on more information about the game itself as well as it is just as important as the strategy.
